Online Charity Auction
December 14 - December 20
My readers might find this to be an unusual post for my blog. It is, as much as it’s a subject that sits close to my heart and family history. So please take a moment to read on, to browse the fabulous art work, and share the post with family and friends - Armenian and non. Then, if you can, participate in the auction to assist those whose lives are and have been negatively impacted by the current conflict in Artsakh (otherwise known as Nagorno-Karabakh). ARTSCOOPS
PROTECT ARTsakh is organized by multidisciplinary Armenian artists from four continents. Paintings, photography, sculpture, illustration, textile and jewelry – Art work from artists that include participants in Armenia’s Golden Lion (Leone d’Oro) winning Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015: Mikayel Ohanjanyan (Armenia), Aikaterini Gegisian (Greece), Hrair Sarkissian (Syria), Rosana Palazyan (Brazil), Silvina Der Meguerditchian (Argentina), Mekhitar Garabedian (Belgium) and Aram Jibilian (USA). Their objective is to raise funds for the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts which will aid Armenian families who recently were forced to flee their homes in the Caucasus region of Artsakh following its handover to Azerbaijan. ARTSCOOPS
Beyond the immediate financial relief, the auction’s focus is to raise awareness of the dire situation in Armenia and Artsakh.
The auction is hosted on ARTSCOOPS, a Beirut-based online art platform and marketplace that presents contemporary Middle Eastern art from artists and galleries through auctions and private sales.
